Overview

This policy explains how Quiet Blogs and the independent publications in its network collect, use, and share information when you visit our websites. It applies to https://quietblogs.com and publication subdomains operated as part of the network.

Information collected automatically

When you request a page, our hosting infrastructure may record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, referring page, date and time, and response status. We use this information to deliver the websites, diagnose problems, understand traffic, and protect the service.

Google Analytics

Some pages use Google Analytics to help us understand how readers find and use our publications. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies and collect information such as session activity, approximate location, browser and device details, and interactions with pages. Google states that IP addresses may be used during collection and are discarded before being logged in Google Analytics.

We use analytics information in aggregate to assess readership and improve navigation, content, and site performance. We do not send names, email addresses, or values entered into form fields to Google Analytics.

You can learn more from Google’s explanation of Analytics privacy and data safeguards and Google’s privacy policy. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies and browser controls

Analytics services may place or read cookies or similar browser identifiers. You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings, although doing so may affect measurements or features on some websites.

Affiliate links, advertising, and external websites

Some publications may include affiliate links, advertising, or links to third-party websites. If you follow one of these links, the third party may collect information under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of those services. Affiliate relationships do not change the price you pay unless clearly stated otherwise.

How information is used and shared

We use information to operate and secure the websites, understand aggregate readership, improve publications, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by hosting, analytics, security, and other service providers acting on our behalf, or disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and service integrity.

Retention and international processing

Server logs and analytics information are retained according to operational needs and the settings of the relevant service provider. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ.

Your choices and rights

You can limit cookies through your browser, use the Google Analytics opt-out tool, or avoid following third-party links. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you. Because much of our analytics information is aggregated or pseudonymous, we may not be able to associate it with a specific visitor.

Children’s privacy

These publications are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our websites, service providers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
